Catching and killing a bat!

People of Timor catching a bat and killing it... Why they are doing it - search me! A villager comes back with a huge bat in his hands. They proceed it knock it on the head and make it bleed. Bat cruelty. Why?

Monte Hae Osso, with a latitude of -8.5 (8° 30' 16 S) and a longitude of 126.31 (126° 18' 45 E), is a hypsographic mountain located in East Timor that is a part of Asia. The location is situated 84 kilometers east (90°) of the approximate center of East Timor and 81 kilometers east (86°) of the captial Dili. A 10 square km area around Monte Hae Osso has an average elevation of 376 meters above the sea.
