You know me better than I know myself
So how should I engage you?
You know my thoughts, my desires
So well that my expressions seem
Needless, even whiney, as from a spoiled child.

How am I to be insistent, masterful?
You are in the sparrow that sits briefly
On the window seal. You are in the wind
That rustles the trees. You are in the blood
Pumping through my unreliable brain.

Being without you is even more devastating
Because I cannot be without you, my love.
If you should abandon me how much
Would I lose? It's terrifying to think.
I believe my soul would follow you away.
