When I'm with you
It's as if you take
my heart
and cup it in your hands
like a newly emerged butterfly

You hold it
safe and warm
protected
with a touch
that's secure
yet gentle

With knowing
and wonder
my fragile self
opens

to the beckoning breeze
to widening horizons
and exploration.
