Carly Kisley - The Call

Phone rings
It’s his brother
I’m at work on break
Those horrific words come through the phone
“We got into an accident”
Short pause felt like eternity
A million things and emotions fill my head
I couldn’t lose him
Not him
“He is okay, just a busted lip” finally broke the screaming silence
No, I won’t believe it until I see him
Race out of work
To the car
They come pulling up in their dad’s car
He gets out of the car
Yes, a busted lip nothing else
Jump into his arms
Cry my heart out
I wouldn’t know what to do if he were gone
That feeling of the thought of losing him just about ate me alive
Punch his chest
“Don’t ever do that again! ”
