Carlos Rodriguez - Labyrinth
1 Views • Oct 28, 2014
Description
like a bird whose wings have been clipped
and can't no longer take flight.
Hot dead prison in the sleepless night
angels sore below the moon's eternal light
wise men utter not a single word
for all of the promises that we've been told
and yet have not been heard.
Clinched fists upward to the fearful night
dense are the forests of azure by earth's quiet light
peaceful dream by which the child absorbs
heaven is smiling from above holding a bloody sword.
Should I surrender to my merciless existence?
I can hear death calling me far off in the distance
I wish to crawl back into my mother's womb
before the time comes to lie down in my worthless tomb.
Oh fearless creator of being
grant me a few more hours of life
I shall speak the truth and forget
that they were once selfish lies
through this labyrinth I roam
as I play with my children already grown.
