Carla Nestoros - That night

He clung to me, he cried you know
He began to pray
He tried and begged and pleaded
As I said he had to pay

His red lips screamed [forgiveness]
Once they screamed [complete]
I felt his tears on my nose
As he forced our lips to meet

I was still and silent
My feet forced to the ground
His eyes, they begged for answers
But my tongue and heart was bound

He hit the floor and whimpered
He put his hand on my heart
‘Remember us inseparable,
How could we be apart? ’

My hands dropped to his shoulders
As he clung tightly to my thigh
I pushed him back so slowly
Even then, I couldn’t cry

I took a breath and walked away
Under my breath I said
‘If you want love, my darling
Go back to her instead’
