capri beach - Looking Glass

In the beginning the glass sparkled,
The mirage rather alluring,
My heart succumb to the illusion,
Only to be left with half chiseled clay.

My feet to deep in quicksand,
The flesh behind the mask a nightmare,
Oh give me the strength to say goodbye,
To leave this ruin of lies.

Standing on the other side of the glass looking in,
I can see through the clay,
See the true cripple inside,
Inside is ugly, ugly like us all,
My eyes see through to the real you.
