Chinese director Jia Zhangke presents 'Mountains May Depart' in the main competition at Cannes, a film tracing the love life and life choices of a Chinese woman over a period of 26 years. Jia Zhangke tells AFP in an interview that he wanted to show 'to what extent society influences our lives, our love lives'.
