Can the jinni harm people?

VTR: I would like to ask Mr. Oktar a question. Yesterday, I watched a horror movie. But since the movie was about the jinni, it did a number on my subconscious. The sounds I hear every night that I shrug off as ordinary have begun to sound strange after I watched that movie. Is this the product of my own fear that my subconscious has given rise to? Or, may God forbid, is this a case of haunting [of jinni]? I thank you in advance.

ADNAN OKTAR: You are a brave young man. The jinni would not haunt you. They only act under God's orders. They are not stray, unconscious beings that can take arbitrary actions and attack helpless people from an advantageous position. God does not grant the jinni any advantage over humans. There has never been such a case. It is most likely that the movie has aroused in you a sense of anxiety and nervousness, so you tend to hear such hallucinatory sounds and visions. Because you are currently extra sensitive. Pay no mind to it and it will pass before you realize. This is not a case of haunting; but they do come when they are summoned. Those movies occasionally give accurate information, but the jinni would never harm Muslims nonetheless. Sometimes the jinni appears in the form of a white, nitrogenous smoke. And if the circumstances are right, the smoke sometimes starts to take a humanoid form. Still, if its presence unsettles people, it immediately vanishes. It does not have a solid form. In short, the jinni cannot harm you. They would not harm Muslims in anyway. No such thing would happen.
