Camping on an erupting volcano

A breathtaking video has emerged of campers watching a volcano erupt a few metres away from their camp site.

The footage, shot earlier this month near the Santiaguito volcano in Guatemala, shows a huge plume of smoke rising in the sky as the volcano is erupting.

"I decided to camp on one of the most active volcano - Santiaguito, which is erupting almost every hour, with explosions of ash and hot rocks," the filmer wrote online about her experience.
