Description

The CAM sensor or camshaft position sensor's role is to signal the ECM the camshaft position. The crank and cam sensor operate in sync with each other. Without the CAM sensor the vehicle may not even start and cause hard starting. The CAM sensor is mostly used to determine which injector to fire in a sequential system and for COP or coil on-plug ignition systems coil firing event.
