Caitlin Hancock - Red

All the red, it’s inescapable
As hard as I try, I can’t get away from it
It’s teasing me, holding me in its grip
Not letting me go
I feel confused, lost
Unsure of what is going on
I hear an angry voice,
Shouting and shouting, making me ears shudder
I find myself lying down,
How did I get there?
I open my eyes and see my mother
But something’s wrong, she seems different
Her eyes are blank, emotionless
And then I see the red
The red that’s inescapable
