Description

Election Commission chairperson Abdul Rashid Abdul Rahman revealed that the cabinet had rejected the use of indelible ink in the March 8 general election on the day Parliament was dissolved. However, Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said that the scrapping of the indelible ink was a cabinet's suggestion to EC, and not a directive.
