C Richard Miles - Lost Wellies
8 Views • Jun 18, 2014
Description
For I’ve left my milk and wellies,
Like a berk who’d leave a brolly,
In the carriage of the tube.
Have I caused a situation
Which elicits disapproval
And has forced evacuation
And a service interlude?
For no terrorist intention
Crossed my mind on this occasion,
So I now succinctly mention
That I went and plain forgot
To pick up my lost belongings
And I have the faint suspicion
That commuters now are longing
To line up to have me shot.
If I’ve caused an intermission,
I beg for your understanding
Not to view me with derision,
Since my actions were not bright.
Now you’ve heard my fraught confession,
Check before you leave your carriage,
As taught by my indiscretion,
For your stuff when you alight.
