don’t look at me with that hate.
you knew from the beginning
that these wounds were self made.
who made you think you could save me?
not even you could rescue me
from my self destruction,
so just stand back and watch
as I fall into the darkness
that I have created for myself,
the hatred that bleeds in me,
the tangled mess I leave behind
and the resentment that resonates on.
finally, I will be the ghost that haunts
seeping and seething in your closet
wanting and waiting for a moment
to scream forth your inadequacies
echoing from room to room
tickling the hair on the small of your neck
letting you know that I am still here
begging you in the only way I know how
to say I am forever here with you
