This might seem strange

As so little time has passed

That I wonder where you are

And where you’ve been

Whether you’re cold

Or lost in thought

And of what…

Am I naïve enough to think

That I’ve captured more than a fleeting glance

From a (woman) no less divine

Than what angels were surely meant to be?

As the seconds pass

And minutes turn to hours

I look into my own eyes

And ask

“Of what have I convinced myself? ”
