Description

The crow, he's reminding me
Of a rain coming, and yesterday,
Yesterday, a whisper of a friend,
Her favorite color, purple
Purple falling, purple flowers and
Soft purple petals cascading from heaven.

Surround us with sunshine
Each tender ray a gentle memory,
Yesterday's folded in half and tucked away
A letter worth holding on to
Yesterday's hearty stew, to savour
Leftovers devoured, nothing tangible spared.

Stab my eyes,
A knife to the weakest of sentimental flesh,
God, what more?

Damn earth! Damn death!
But don't damn them,
Don't damn him or her
Or me
If her soul was a balloon
I'd snatch it from the sky and
Tie it round her torn wrist.

I feel her phantom,
Her dull, aching pain,
Dragging it here and there,
But I digress,
To the crow's words,
'This is a cirque du soleil and life.'

Honey, take my peace, I'll take your pain
My sweetest friend above the rain,
I'll catch up to you
We'll dance in a purple hue
Slide against the shadows and never slow
My celestial friend, I'll be wherever you may go.
