C&I Studios: Help Portrait TimeLapse
Description
We were honored to partner with Help-Portrait on December 10th, 2011 in Washington DC. It was such a great time.
Help-Portrait is a community of photographers coming together across the world to use their photography skills to give back to their local community. Help-Portrait is about GIVING the pictures, not taking them. Every holiday season, you have the chance to give a family something they may have never had before—a portrait together. In December, photographers around the world grab their cameras, find people in need and take their picture. When the prints are ready, the photographs get delivered. This is what Help-Portrait is all about.
To partake in Help-Portrait C&I Studios has to go through the organization SOME. The helped us link up with the families we worked with, and they also provided the venue for us to work in.
SOME (So Others Might Eat) is an interfaith, community-based organization that exists to help the poor and homeless of our nation's capital. They meet the immediate daily needs of the people they serve with food, clothing, and health care. They also help break the cycle of homelessness by offering services, such as affordable housing, job training, addiction treatment, and counseling, to the poor, the elderly and individuals with mental illness. To support S.O.M.E you can contact them on their website.
