C.A. Morrow - A Summer Field
10 Views • Oct 28, 2014
Description
A youth gazes upwardly at nomadic clouds
The sun's almond light to them must yield
As a westerly breeze eases away mental clouds
Nothing exists outside this Eden-like Garden of Pleasure
As the river below him flickers timelessly by
This day belongs to his spirited heart forever
Burying deep in him a secret childlike joy
There's hope that sleeps from his inward chest
That there will always remain this boyhood scene
Even when times are burdened with adult unrest
That Summer Field will be his own reassuring daydream
