Bushehr nuke plant officially operational

Iran declared the Busheher nuclear plant official operational at a ceremony in Tehran. The announcement came amid statements by the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency who said he was increasingly concerned about possible military aspects of Iran's nuclear program. Yukiya Amano called on the Islamic Republic to cooperate fully with his inspectors . In a joint press conference in Tehran Iran's Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi and Russia's Energy Minister Sergei Shmatko lauded the opening of the plant. The plant will initially generate electricity at 40 percent capacity and is expected to reach full capacity in two months time.
