Tokyo-bound bullet train. One rule. Drop below 100 km/h and it’s boom time. The authorities scramble to save the passengers while the ticking clock turns into pure damage control. And yes, the setup is basically blackmail with explosives strapped to a high-speed rail car. It’s not subtle, but it’s also not trying to be. The movie leans into the ugly practicality of it: if you can slow the train, you can force the government to pay. If you can’t, you’re just along for the ride when the fuse starts doing its thing.

For 2025, this one delivers that very specific genre joy: escalating crisis, frantic problem-solving, and the constant fear that the next update is going to be „too late.“ Ratings are decent, so expect suspense with a wink, not a philosophical masterpiece.

Ein Shinkansen rast Richtung Tokio, bis er plötzlich nicht mehr kann. Ab 100 km/h soll alles hochgehen. Klar, dass dann in den Behörden der Panikmodus einsetzt und alle versuchen, Fahrgäste irgendwie lebend aus dem Chaos zu holen. Das Ganze ist keine elegante Spannung, eher so ein „Wie viele Regeln kann man brechen, bevor es wirklich knallt?“-Szenario. Mit Bomben als Druckmittel wird aus Zeitlupe eine Endabrechnung. Man fühlt das Leck vor dem Platzen schon, aber der Film schiebt die Frage trotzdem nach vorne: Schafft es jemand, die Katastrophe zu entschärfen, oder macht der Zug einfach sein Ding und zündet die Welt an?

2025 aus Japan. Rotten Tomatoes und Metacritic sind solide, also genug Spaß für alle, die Explosionen mögen, aber keine Wunder erwarten.
