Crowdfunding is a very broad term and comes in many different shapes and sizes. “Equity” crowdfunding to the general public (non-accredited investors) is not yet available in the US. But it is available in some other countries. And selling actual shares of companies requires major planning, legal and financial professionals, and a lot of capital.
