bryan wallace - Do we matter?

Description
I stand and wait, leaning on a rusty gate.
The old horse lazily looks at me,
Before going back to cropping the meadow grass.
I look down at the pasture,
I see a honey bee -
Perched on a white clover flower -
Sucking nature's goodness, before moving on.
The clover, the buttercup and the daisy -
All of it part of nature's system -
Every living thing, has a part to play.
Except us it would seem -
Dear wonderful, intelligent mankind - top of the chain,
What do we contribute?
All we do is to destroy for our own gain…

It doesn't matter how many times we fall, what matters is how many times we try to get up when we fall!!
