Bryan Pegram - Stepping Into the Light

I can feel my eagerness wanting you to see,
This hidden ability that I call poetry.

No longer am I reluctant to hide this gift,
It’s like the old way of thinking just went adrift.

And I am treading new water to learn my way,
But, I will take in the lessons as I survey.

And apply them where needed to propel ahead,
So that I can keep expressing what’s in my head.

I have polished my gift without end,
To understand the things in Life most miscomprehend.

Plus, I can scalpel any emotion down to its core,
And put it on display as a form of décor.

Giving me the ability to show you how,
I can express what I think with the ultimate “WOW”.

I was cautious before to allow others to explore,
But here I come, I am silent no more.

So, out of the shadows and into the light,
I will keep my gift always in sight.
