Meanwhile the mother, brother and other relatives of the boy killed in Amritsar are beside themselves with grief. The victim named Gurpreet Singh was dragged out of the house of Akali Sarpanch Amarjeet Singh and beaten up. Then when he went home, Amarjeet Singh allegedly landed at the victim's home with several other men in tow and held a gun to the victim's ears. He took him to a faraway spot and allegedly tortured him so badly that the boy returned in a state of physical and mental shock and died in hospital soon after.
