Brooke Harris - What is Happiness?

Happiness is ice-cream
covered with yummy toppings.
It is fluffy and soft,
and full of light and warmth.
It is a book or game,
a favorite hobby or pastime.
It is a fantasy or a daydream
with which we create.
Happiness is a cozy chair,
a warm fire burning in the hearth.
It is the snow (balls) your friends throw
as is covers the land in beauty.
Happiness is the change in the seasons,
the transitions the world makes in its axis.
It knows no bounds,
it has no boxes to keep it contained.
Cuddly bears and baby blankets,
fill childhood with joy.
The sand and the ocean,
crashing to shore.
Mixing.
Dragging at wiggling toes,
trying to pull you in.
Seashells that sparkle like jewels
and sand dollars you’ll never spend.
Happiness is an ocean timing
with hope that borders the soft
billowy sand of beaches filled with delight.
it is wherever you are,
and wherever you’ve been.
Happiness is whatever you want it to be.
