Days seem like eternities
Since you’ve gone away
Overtaken with emptiness
Need to fill this void someway…
The gentle touch of a hand…
Warmth from another’s embrace…
Words of tenderness…
Look of love in a face
I’ve sat for years
All alone
With memories by my side
Longing to be loved
Once more
Instead closing doors to hide
Feelings of guilt overtake
This broken heart and soul
Thoughts of someone
Cross my mind
Yet it’s you I have extolled
Is this too much to ask?
Feeling hands touch once more
Kisses upon my lips
Filling empty hearts like before?
