Broken Hearts - A Better Goodbye

I spent the whole day
Knowing that I wouldn't see you again
And knowing that
You’d never speak to me again
After school while we were outside
I was leaving
And we hugged goodbye
I wish I'd held you longer
I wish I'd never let go
I wish I'd asked you not to go
I wish that I didn't act
Like nothing was wrong
And as if it didn't bother me
To say goodbye
I wish I'd cried
I wish I could cry right now
But it's for the best
But I still wish I'd said
A better goodbye
