British FM reopens embassy in Tripoli

British Foreign Minister William Hague arrives in Tripoli.
He's here to reopen the UK's embassy in the capital as well as cement ties with Libya's interim government.
(SOUNDBITE)(English) BRITISH FOREIGN SECRETARY WILLIAM HAGUE SAYING:
"We are also increasing our contribution to security and stability in Libya. We are making available further support for emergency de-mining activities by the United Nations Mines Actions service. This will help to protect thousands of people so that they can return to their homes."
At the ceremony, guests watch as British officials hoist the nation's flag.
Hague also met with the National Transitional Council leader, Mustafa Abdel Jalil, to discuss allegations of human rights abuses against captured Gaddafi loyalists.
(SOUNDBITE)(English) BRITISH FOREIGN SECRETARY WILLIAM HAGUE SAYING:
"There have been allegations and I will discuss those with the NTC leaders. Of course I will raise those. It's very important that they keep that moral authority of treating people well. And I know that the leaders of the NTC are very committed to that, very sincere about that."
Hague said Britain is to release billions of pounds worth of Libyan dinars the government froze at the beginning of Libya's seven-month uprising.
