Description

A reason to celebrate as Britain's very own Fame academy, the BRIT school turns 20 this September.
The school whose alumnus include Amy Winehouse, Adele, Leona Lewis and Jessie J is the only free school in the UK dedicated to the performing arts.
About 700 students attend the school each year and there are plans to expand to 1000.
On Thursday the school unveiled a new recording studio dedicated to Sir George Martin, who has produced all but one of the Beatles albums.
SOUNDBITE: Sir George Martin, Producer, saying (English):
"It's tremendous to come back. I have been back a few times but to come back 20 years after we started and see what we started, it really is breathtaking. The school has become something beyond my wildest dreams."
On the day students were given awards and performed in front representatives from the music industry.
But despite the phenomenal success current student Sam Yeung said the academy doesn't give false hope to those who have yet to finish their education.
SOUNDBITE: Sam Yeung, BRIT school student, saying (English):
"It's a great success story, you hear all these artists who go on to do great things. But the whole point of the BRIT school is that no matter who you are, no matter what you end up doing, there's always something for you. Like the whole point is that we're trained here, in this industry, is that we're trained here in this industry, we're trained for work. It's not necessarily in no way, shape or form that it's fabricated to believe that we're going to go out into the world and become huge stars. Obviously for some people it happens but for some people it doesn't. No matter what, we're going to be successful."
More than 7,000 graduates from the school are working in the creative industries in the UK.
According to the Official Charts Company the school's alumnus have collectively sold more than 65 million albums world-wide.
There are also plans to open another BRIT school in Manchester by 2013.
