At midnight on Halloween, almost 3 1/2 years after the Brexit referendum of 2016, the United Kingdom was once again supposed to be leaving the EU.
Yet despite Prime Minister Boris Johnson's “do or die” pledge to deliver, the U.K. remains an EU member state.

Prime Minister Johnson's fervent attempts to keep the deadline have clearly failed, this week, with the EU agreeing to extend the departure date to January 31st.
