The historical-comedy film, directed by Chimbudevan is produced by director Shankar. In 2016, the duo announced that they're teaming up for the sequel titled Imsai Arasan 24th Pulikesi .The film ran into trouble a few days after it went on floors. Later, the film was shelved as Vadivelu refused to shoot. Now with Sequels are lined for his his hit films Devar Magan, Thalainagaram & Chandramukhi, the issue of Imsai Arasan 23 am Pulikesi again crops up.
