'In These Dark Nights'
With these lights out in the dark,
I sit here alone in with my thoughts.
They whisper to me, telling me lies.
Do I believe them,
or ask my questions to the sky?
Hellfire and brimstone are all that await,
my eternity is set into place.
Satan mocks me with that smile,
I've known this all now for a long while.
My skin cringes back in pain,
if only this were like a video game.
I'd slay Satan with a forty-two hit combo,
and be back in time to gloat.
But this is reality and fate,
and they have my destiny on a plate.
My soul is theirs to control,
I'm lost without a continue.
My heart screams as it burns,
love is something I always yearned.
The demons tear away at my flesh,
so that I may only be tossed aside like the rest.
All thats left is this one lowly eye,
and it looks up...towards the sky.
