Brandi Guthrie - Grasp

The words I choose are always wrong.
Elucidations stuck where they don`t belong.
Too many reasons… they fall to the floor.
All I know is I can`t do this anymore.
I`m tearing you up, I rend and peel.
And you don`t really want to know how I feel.
I`m back and forth, within and without.
My conviction, as always soaked in doubt.
I know you don`t want to continue this way.
My proof is the empty words that you say.
Face-saving pledges fall short of the mark.
And land silent, an inch away from my heart.
An end has slithered a few passing years,
Bringing with it this vast drought of tears.
If we cut our losses and just walk away
We can avoid the terms we don`t want to say.
So here is me putting a halt to the malady
And finally regaining my grasp on reality.
