Whispers

Soft-spoken, like bandaged fingers plucking guitar strings. 
Voices so low jaws can't help but drop.
You can't hear a word but the meaning is ever-clear.
They fiddle their fingers and call it bodylanguage. they give a look and later say 'I told you so' as if messages articulate through deep brown eyes kissed by hazel.
They expect you to understand, then get mad when you don't speak their language.
They trick the mind and draw the eyes in ever closer with their beckoning fingers, mouthing 'come closer' and you do, hoping with each step dialogue will stop being inaudible and come into play.
They trap you, then make you believe you've been released from this terrible cage, then they free you, and you're right back in that cage again begging for another shot at freedom.
They'll put you through Hell, then make you wish you were there if you find yourself in Heaven without them.
You hate the fact that you love them. But love that life isn't the same without them.
They're The last thing on our minds before we fall asleep, and the first voice in our ears when sunlight finally creeps through the window.
Our one, our only, the breath in our lungs and thoughts that drive us mad.
Can't live with them, can't live without them.
And they make sure you know that every single day.
They give us the greatest gifts in the world, and nothing we have to give will ever be good enough.
We try to give our love, and mess things up time and again. But they forgive us, while still reminding us for years to come.
But we endure, in fact, we thrive, because they nurture, and they heal, and they hold our hearts so we know where home is.
Then they whisper in our ears, and it's like being kissed by roses.
