The indie/alt rock band from New York City thrives on creatively seeking freedom, whether it's in the studio or on stage. There's no rulebook or template, simply unhindered art in its purest form when Vlad Holiday [vocals/guitar], Matt Maroulakos [bass/keys], and Dave Tantao [drums] converge.

Forming in 2011, Born Cages has shared bills with a bevy of acts such as Hockey, Magic Man, X Ambassadors, Gold Fields, Royal Teeth, Said The Whale, Donald Cumming (of The Virgins) and Har Mar Superstar. They were even handpicked by Guns N’ Roses to be the sole support band on two sold out GN’R club shows.

Their latest single “Rolling Down the Hill” hit Top 10 at Alternative Specialty radio, with its music video winning mtvU's The Freshmen competition and a remix reaching #2 on Hype Machine’s popular remix chart.

Born Cages’ shared boundless mentality (a delicate alchemy of raw guitars and shimmering electronics) powers I'm Glad I'm Not Me, their forthcoming full-length debut. Produced by Jon Kaplan (Cage The Elephant, Walk The Moon) and Oliver Straus (Arctic Monkeys, Metric, Matt & Kim), I’m Glad I’m Not Me will be released this coming spring on Washington Square/Razor & Tie. For now, Born Cages offers a taste of what’s to come with The Sidelines EP.
