Bored Ape Surges With Ape Coin
Description
Trading volume and floor prices for the Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT collection shot up on Thursday after the platform announced ApeCoin, a utility token that will become a big addition to the project’s ecosystem. According to data from OpenSea, transaction volume for Bored Ape rose almost 500% in the past 24 hours while floor prices rose more than 100 Ethereum. Other collections from Bored Ape also saw increases as the project plans to make 150 million APE coins available to members, including stars like Eminem and Justin Bieber. Yat Siu of Animoca Brands and a board member of ApeCoin DAO, called the APE Coin the “zeitgeist of NFTs today.” At press time, Ethereum was trading at nearly $2800, up more than 3% in early activity.
