Bond Taper Might Start In October
Description
Raphael Bostic, President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, says the Federal Reserve could “reasonably” begin in October. Bostic said, “I would be comfortable with an October timeline for starting this,” so long as job growth continues to progress by about 1 million per month. Bostic also said he is “definitely looking to get this done as quickly as possible,” so the plan is complete by the end of Q1 in 2022. An announcement could come at a policy meeting September 21st through the 22nd.
