Boeing's Dreamliner Delayed
Description
Boeing announced that it would postpone the delivery of its 787 Dreamliners after identifying a new defect. While Boeing assured no immediate safety risk, it intends to conduct inspections and estimates that rectifying the issue will take approximately two weeks per aircraft. Boeing has informed regulators, including the Federal Aviation Administration, about the newly discovered defect. The FAA has stated that no Dreamliners will be authorized for delivery until the issue is resolved to their satisfaction. This setback compounds the challenges Boeing has encountered with the Dreamliner, such as previous delivery stoppages in February due to regulatory documentation and fuselage component investigations. Boeing remains confident that this delay will not impact its goal of delivering 70 to 80 Dreamliners by the end of the year.
