Boeing Faces Strike Threat After Workers Reject Contract

Boeing faces the threat of a strike after over 3,200 workers in Missouri and Illinois rejected its latest contract offer on Sunday, according to the South China Morning Post. The union said the proposal failed to address worker priorities, even with a 20% pay increase over four years and additional holidays. The current contract expires Sunday night, and IAM members will strike within seven days if no new deal is reached. Boeing said it was “disappointed” and is preparing for a walkout, with no further negotiations scheduled. The potential strike follows last year’s seven-week stoppage in Seattle and comes months after Trump awarded Boeing a major U.S. Air Force contract to produce next-generation F-47 fighter jets.
