Boeing Beats Q2 Estimates
Description
Boeing reported better-than-expected results in the second quarter of the year due to increased commercial aircraft deliveries as production ramped up. The aerospace manufacturer generated $2.6 billion in free cash flow, surpassing analyst forecasts. Boeing's second-quarter revenue saw an 18% increase from the previous year, reaching $19.75 billion. The adjusted loss per share was 82 cents, slightly better than the consensus estimate of 88 cents. The company delivered 136 planes during the quarter, up from 121 in the same period last year. The company's primary focus is boosting production of its best-selling Max aircraft to 38 jets per month, up from 31, as well as increasing the output of its 787 Dreamliner aircraft. Boeing maintained its 737 delivery forecast of between 400 and 450 planes for the year and plans to produce five Dreamliners monthly by year-end.
