Every night
Every day
All or nothing, not a play

Ever always
Tis the same
Battle, savage, quite insane.

Bloody talon
Flailing claw
Slashing tooth and snapping maw.

Mortal combat
Conflict all
Fight and live or lose and fall.

And atop the heap,
The human foot,
Moved by man, in hob nailed boot.

Crushing all
The weak, subdued
Lower creatures, merely food.

But worm, Oh Worm
Oh how he waits
On human flesh to satiate!

And finally,
When Man does fall,
Worm crowns himself the 'King Of All'

But high upon,
The flaming pyre,
Corpse and Worm meet Mister Fire

And so, quite so,
It shall not be,
Lowly Worm, no conqueror he!
