Description
Finally,
after a long day of semi-work,
I get to sit and relax
in the kitchen with a cup of coffee.
But,
son of a gun,
just as I settle into my down time,
the doorbell rings.
I get up to answer it.
Very odd though.
No one is there.
I return to my coffee.
No sooner do I finish my first cup,
The doorbell rings again.
Daaaaammmm! ! !
I get up to answer.
Again –
no one is there.
I figure the friendly people
up or downstairs are goofing with me.
I decide to hang out by the door
and catch them in the act.
Suddenly,
the doorbell rings again.
And again.
And again.
Hey,
I’m standing right there
inside the door,
and there is no one outside.
Yet the doorbell rings
as though someone is standing there
pushing the button non stop.
There is also no wind or breeze.
I wonder if the others have a similar bell
and someone is ringing theirs.
I go look.
No one there.
Back in kitchen,
I’m almost afraid to do anything
as it might set off the bell.
It rings, though no one is there.
This is just too freaky and spooky for me.
I gather up what I need
to leave the house.
I leave the house
and let no one ring the bell
for no one to answer.
