The last weekend
of the year is upon us.
I look back
and wonder why.
Why did certain family members
leave us for a better place?
Why was I laid off
while certain others were not?
Why haven't I already
landed a better paying job?
Why this?
Why that?
Why? Why? Why?
Why am I even thinking like this?
I should be more upbeat
instead of sitting around, moping.
Excuse me
as I get out and attempt
to lose this mood someplace.
