I look around the room
and see old friends.
And when I stop to say hello -
I think of you.
Cause you know darn well
it wasn’t really all that long ago
when you brought me here.
I can’t help but see your face
sittin’ here, at the table here with me.
We’re cussin’ up a blue streak
cause our numbers aren’t coming up
or I need just one more number, and someone else gets the pot.
I don’t know what’s with me tonight -
just got stuck in this mood
where I’m lonely for you
and I can’t seem to escape the feeling.
I really can’t believe how hard I’m fighting
to keep myself to keep from crying.
Might as well as go home and give into it.
Too late though,
as friends come over and wish me luck
and the first caller of the evening takes his place.
So, should I win,
I’ll think of you
and treat you to a midnight snack.
