Description
He wanders the street
this summer evening,
looking,
looking for something to happen.
Even a miner fender bender
will do nicely.
Something,
anything for excitement will do.
In the sky,
the day’s sun
hangs like a huge orange ball.
When it leaves,
will it take the humidity?
From the other side of the street
a man’s voice bellows,
“Yes, you are! You are stupid! ”
There is no reply,
but the man continues his attack,
“You’re nothing but a middle aged dyke
with an acute case of -- envy! ”
Hmmmmmm, this could get interesting,
but he continues his wanderings
not wanting to be witness to
anything that might be unpleasant.
A car stops and the driver asks directions -
then drives off - the opposite way.
A leather clad biker
pulls into McDonald’s.
She washes down her salad
with something from a paper bag.
Safely home, once again,
he slides the key into the lock and turns.
He enters wondering -
was that biker on her way to see the dyke?
