The BMW 4 Series, replacing the 3 Series Coupe, is put through its paces in this video review
The BMW 4 Series may share the same platform as the 3 Series Coupe but, as this video review shows, it's a very different car, and possibly one of the best looking modern BMWs out there.
The bonnet is the only bit of the body that the BMW 4 Series shares with the 3 Series. The rest of the styling that makes the car look sporty and powerful, such as the wide rear wheel arch and built in boot lid spoiler, is bespoke.
The BMW 4 Series is surprisingly practical too. If you've got your hands full, you can wave your feet under the boot and it'll pop open for you.
It does drive like the BMW 3 Series on straight roads, but comes into its own at corners. The 4 Series feels a lot more planted and steering is agile, but it's the Sport Plus driving mode that really highlights the upgrade, making the BMW 4 Series one of the best in the class to drive.
You could argue that the BMW 4 Series looks too similar to the 3 series, but there are elements to the new model that really reward keen drivers. It's not the super sharp drive that its looks would suggest, which may leave some people disappointed, but they've always got the M4 to look forward to.
