She came into my life -- Now she's just a memory
For a fleeting interlude -- A joyful rhapsody
Like a rainbow through a cloud
She brightened up each day
Her laughter filled the air that kept swirling all around me
I'm left groping in the dark with "Why" questions in my brain.
No answer seems to come, no matter how I try.
Her hand will rest in mine
To comfort and to guide me
And, I'll feel her presence there
Thought it's just a memory
Like a pixie on a cloud -- (to keep me from despair),
She'll taunt me now and then
I'll smile, -- And then pretend
That she's with me once again.
