Blaine McCanless - Sleepless
7 Views • Jun 13, 2014
Description
Of this old beaten down city,
All the tall buildings that are shown by the moon
Look like tombstones as they loom.
As the wind blows down from the north
You can hear sirens and screaming tires,
The lightposts glow and the trees are singing
They're all part of a sleepless city.
The clouds start to move in
As they come bearing rain,
Another night to wash away the sins
Another night and another chance,
The bells ring the sound of midnight
Everyones ready for a show.
The night has brought to life
The sound of a flutter form the wings of a crow,
I stare at the moon being swallowed up by land
With trash and rain painting the streets,
The sun starts to rise i give the moon my pity
And its all part of a sleepless city.
