Black Rabbit - I don't expect

I don't really expect to see you again.
but I do hold out every now and then.
When I walk through my front door.
It takes a moment to realize your not there any more.
You are gone I must face the fact,
that you are never gonna want me back.
But I don't think I ever will,
because I've never felt the way I feel.
and I've never lost this much before,
when you walked out the door.

I don't really expect to hear you call.
Its been too long for you to bother at all.
With all the sweet words you use to say,
like 'I love you' in your own loving way.
Or how your love could fill all space,
and all the time we shouldn't waste.
Your every gentle word was a dream come true.
Every moment together we knew what to do.
But every 'don't leave me' I said
fell on a heart that was dead.

I can't really expect to feel you near,
my mind has made that very clear.
But my heart won't accept this end.
and longs to feel you again.
I have told myself to move on,
to find the colors in the new dawn.
Move past what my heart fights so.
against all emotions I must go.
To that new place I will someday find.
To a new heart thats oh so kind.

I don't really expect to

feel you
again.
I first must stop in order to begin.
